SPONTANEITY unveils the elixir of life
SPONTANEITY unveils the elixir of life
A good poem may not celebrate language, but it takes you on a short journey through life and directly enters your heart, mind, and soul. It stirs your imagination and gives a gentle tickle to your feelings. And this is what Sushant Thapa’s latest poetry book is loaded with.
Of the five published poetry books, Spontaneity: A New Name of Rhyme is the latest creation of poet Sushant Thapa. The poetry book under review has successfully encompassed a much wider theme of life. Of the total 68 vibrant poems in the book, it seems that every single poem has gone much deeper into life and brought true feelings of human nature. Such a novel effort by the poet is commendable, and therefore his poetry can be put in a different league of success.
As I have been closely watching the poet’s endeavors and crazy devotion to poetry for some time, his growth as an impulsive poet has already been established. It should not be an exaggeration to call him a highly prolific poet. Because all the symptoms of a crazy poet can be seen within him, a poet has been born, and he is growing well.
Sushant Thapa’s Spontaneity, a poetry book, is comprised of every subject of public interest. There are love poems as usual, but the poet has also included many thoughtful topics, and how he delves into the subject is truly perceptible.
When you open the book, the first poem you are going to read is The Gift of Peace. Perhaps the world has to be reminded of peace, as they have forgotten the essence of peace. At a time when war has already broken out in different parts of the world and terrorists are butchering innocent men, women, and children, the significance of the poem The Gift of Peace has been multiplied several times.
The poet has taken on yet another burning topic the country has been facing lately, and that is the mad rush of modernity. Forgetting the real meaning of being modern, we have turned our cities into a concrete jungle. Residing in skyscrapers and living an artificial and borrowed lifestyle of the West has given a false sense of gratification. The readers will find the poem Modernity has aptly dealt with the subject with utmost clarity.
The poem Simplicity humbly enlightens us to be
simple and unpretentious, more like those innocent children who are not aware
of worldly affairs. The poet is right when he writes Simplicity is the search
when you seek freedom. Simplicity and freedom have very close contiguity. Real
freedom is never possible without simplicity. Simplicity should neither be
imposed on anyone nor be followed to show off. Simplicity is being simple,
generous, and free from egos, like a child. That’s why the poet has given the
example of a child in the poem to make his point clear. The poet further adds
more meaning to simplicity by writing:
The simple tears
Can teach you
The meaning for a smile.
Here, the poet says that the tears can be simple or ostentatious. But to understand the real meaning of life, only simple and unpretentious tears can lead to the treasure-trove of life.
The Fortune Seekers is yet another masterstroke
by the poet. At first sight, the poem sounds philosophical and transcendental,
but in reality, it reflects the vanity of human wishes. There are people around
us who are desperate to amass wealth throughout their lives, but at what cost?
At the end of life, when enough wealth is accumulated, it is too late to enjoy
life. Old age sneaks into life, and the old body ceases to enjoy wealth. This
is the reality of life. Thus, the poet further writes,
The ones who praise misery
Are the happiest ones
And yes, that sets
Your mind-clock to work.
The fruit it bears will be sweeter,
The restless world will sing its
Sweet song of ecstasy and
Rise with an awakening.
Instead of chasing a wild goose, the poet advises to lead a simple life and focus on objectives. The poet says to set your mind to work and be satiated with whatever you have in your hand. Because the fruit of hard work is always much sweeter. And his final message through this poem is to accept all your miseries as they are, and this is a true confession of life. Because of what misery can teach you, no wealth in this world can teach you that. And the more you are honest in your effort, the higher your level of happiness will be.
The poem, Of the World, in its true sense, gives the message of
self-assurance, self-belief, and self-confidence. That’s why the poet says that
daydreamers are brave because they put in the utmost effort to translate their
dreams into reality. The achievers neither lick their wounds in frustration nor
bask in the glory of success. They just forget it and move ahead. A hearty
smile is enough to heal their pain and nourish their aching soul. Thus, the
poet suggests that life is a journey for dreamers. If so, then get ready to walk
this life and forget the pain, whatever. Just dust off the pain, give a wistful
smile at life and move ahead.
“Life is a journey of dreamers;
They make
Their dreams come true.
Forget not the pain
The time spent
By those who nurtured.
Smile is the medicine
For the aching soul.”
The poetry book Spontaneity, a new name of rhyme, is meant for those poetry lovers who always look for quality poems. For them, the present book is recommended forthright. I can assure you that all the poems are meticulously woven as if a weaverbird has woven its nests with hard work and precision. Every word in the poem has the strength to enter the hearts, stir the thoughts, and force the readers to ponder upon life.
