PAKISTANI POET Dr. SAJID HUSSAIN AND HIS TWO POEMS

 Dr. Sajid Hussain is an acclaimed poet and writer from Rawalpindi, Pakistan. Dr. Hussain received the Sahitya Pata national poetry award in Bangladesh. He was also awarded the Rabindranath Tagore Memorial Literary Honors by the government of India. Dr. Hussain was also the erstwhile principal of Jinnah Public School, Rawalpindi, Pakistan. Recognizing his literary achievements, the Gujarat Sahitya Academy, India, awarded him the Gujarat Sahitya Academy Award in 2021. 

His poetry has been published in world-famous print and electronic magazines, journals, newspapers, websites, blogs, and anthologies. He is the author of Acquits of Life, Parlance, and Cloud Nine Fantasia. Oceanic upwelling, waves and rays of life, shades of pathos. 

Dr. Hussain has co-authored popular books such as Flowers of Love, Arabian Nights, Poets for Peace, The Candles of Hope, Poetry Collection, Poetry for Ukraine, The Silk Road Literature, and Ancient Egyptians. Modern Poets: Mediterranean Waves, Peace and Love Makes Society, Rhapsodies, and Dandelions: The Multiverse of Poets. 

Dr. Hussain has penned over 1,000 poems to date. His poems have already been published in more than 150 world anthologies and magazines. His poems have also been translated into Chinese, Hindi, Spanish, French, Arabic, Bangla, Russian, and Italian. 

A passionate supporter of international goodwill, Dr. Hussain’s love for nature is unequivocally outstanding. A large section of his poems is devoted to nature’s conservation. His dedicated service to promoting global understanding through poetry has also been appreciated by the international community.

Mr. Subedi made his presence felt by his debut essay collection ‘Matoko Sandesh’ (The Message of the Soil) in 2001. The first part of the essay was about the contemporary issues of the country, and the second part of the essay was about the social issues based on social discrimination. He raised voices against those discriminations and asked for immediate solutions. In less than two years, he brought yet another short essay collection, ‘The Heart of the Soil’ in 2004. I have always felt that the purpose of poetry is not academic. Poetry should be for the common masses.  One can try to learn poetry inside the classroom, but the origin of poetry is subjective.
